FAQ
Before you call.
How do I schedule an estimate?
Start an estimate on this site, or call or text (410) 259-7094. Leave a message if the call goes to voicemail. A visit is how the final price gets set.
What work do you do?
Hardwood installation, replacement, sanding and refinishing, board repair, and stair treads, for homeowners, builders, and contractors.
Where are you based?
Taneytown, Maryland, at 3981 Kump Station Rd. The usual area is about 50 miles from that address, including Westminster, Frederick, Hagerstown, Gettysburg, Hanover, and York. A ZIP outside that list can still send details. A visit is not promised there.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the size of the job. A single room can be a day. A whole first floor, a replacement that includes tear-out, or a floor that needs stain can take more than one day. You will hear the timing with the estimate.
How much does hardwood flooring cost per square foot?
Installation labor, refinishing, and removal are priced per square foot. Material is separate if you already bought the flooring, and it is added when Mike supplies solid oak. The current ranges are on the pricing page. The estimator uses those rates for the size you enter. The result is a preliminary range, not a contract.
Should I refinish or replace my hardwood?
Refinish when the boards are solid and the problem is the finish or surface wear. Replace when the boards are badly damaged, too thin to sand again, or the floor is not hardwood. If you are not sure, do not guess from a photo. A visit is how that choice gets made.
Do you visit inside the service area?
Yes. Towns within about 50 miles of the Taneytown office are the usual area, and a visit there is part of how the final price is set. The estimate checks your ZIP code. Outside that area, you can still send the project. A visit is not promised.
Can I see flooring samples?
Yes. Sample hardwood floor types can be seen by request.
Can I get a price on this website?
Yes. The estimate page asks for the service, ZIP code, and approximate size, then shows a preliminary range before asking for your email. The range is not a contract. Mike still needs to confirm unusual conditions.
Do you text?
Yes. You can call or text (410) 259-7094. A call still goes to voicemail if nobody picks up, so leave a message.
